I can't do work and eat at the same time right? Hahaha :D  Recently have been watching 巴不得妈妈 Divas in Distress. I love the Him/Mandy couple pairing. I have so much to say and talk about! Also watched the recent emperor one with Wayne Lai (forgot the name atm).... and not to mention some watched during the summer @___@
I really want to blog about all of them, and started on some (all as drafts now) I'd really rather do this than homework!!

Hmm, my random venting post I guess...

Also thank you to those who come to happen on this blog. Thank you for reading! It really makes my day to see views. Hope you find information here informative. Leave a message, say hi, let me know of any opinions, comments, and as always constructive criticism welcome!

My Reaction to 回到三国 Three Kingdoms RPG [Spoiler Alert]

My usual post about my reaction to the drama but this time it will be a little different....

I was reading various reviews and summaries online, and I found a lot of them consisted of inaccurate information. Also reading other's comments, I realized, there is quite a lot of criticism and misunderstandings towards, Three Kingdoms and the various characters. My friend and I were talking about the drama and she said, she had done some research and realized, the way they portrayed the characters were off. I don't exactly agree with her. I feel the characters were more or less portrayed the way they have always been known for. This lead me to think, did she read some of these misleading posts that are online? I decided to include something extra in this post, not to dis others, and not to prove them wrong, but I just wanted to clear up some misunderstandings. I'm not saying I know everything, and I don't mean to offend anyone else. If you feel offended, I am really sorry. And if you feel that I'm wrong, don't be afraid to tell me (in the comments below). I'm always open to what you have to say.

I have just finished watching the drama, and a lot of the information is still fresh in my head. Also I have my Chinese school history text book to reference and back up my points. Hopefully this will give insight to everyone! (and of course, a lot of my own personal opinions as well)

oh and always....
[SPOILER ALERT!!!!]

Plot

This first section here will be about plot.

First things first, Kenneth Ma's character, the frivolous and impetuous Sima Xin (Sima Shun) is a fictional character in the drama. He is not a historical figure, and should not be mistaken to be the historical figure, Sima Yan, who would later unite the Three Kingdoms.

Sima Shun and the maid Song Yau's love story is not going to end well (what is with TVB and bad endings??) One review I have read claims that, after Sima Shun abandons Song Yau she remarries.

So here's the final episode(24) ending... [MAJOR SPOILER]

During the Battle of Red Cliff, Sima Shun takes Song Yau to the portal that would take him back to Hong Kong. The portal though, only take Sima Shun and not Song Yau so therefore she was left behind. Back in Hong Kong, he realizes he had left for two years during his time travel. 30 years in the modern world passes, and Sima Shun is now 60 years old. Through the years, he has become the boss of a successful restaurant franchise, but he had not forgot about Song Yau and his time travel to Three Kingdoms. Throughout the years he always watched for typhoons to happen, hoping he would be able to see the portal and travel back in time again. He finally saw it when he was 60 years old. Unfortunately, he dies of a heart attack as he tries to get to the portal. He doesn't make it..... but a little surprise, Song Yau, comes through the portal and sees the body of Sima Shun. Tragic, Tragic ending...

Kenneth Ma: "Look that blue light! The way back home!"

Song Yau (Tavia) coming through the portal.

:'( Tear, Tear. I really think Tavia a is good actor with potential. Her crying scenes are bone chilling. She's so good! And those big tears! How her face changes and her eyes well up, yup, real crying there!

Next part about the plot would be my question from seeing this picture:

http://www.ihktv.com/sudden-885-threekingdomsrpg.html

According to this site, it said that Sima Shun was helping Zhu Ge Liang, but Zhu Ge Liang sent him to jail. Sima Shun escaped and went to Cao Cao. He later realizes Cao Cao was the not reliable. This was posted July 13, 2012. My question is.... where in the drama was this? I mean I know I skipped two episodes (14, 15) but according to the post this was somewhere around the Battle of Red Cliff time...

Guessing this is the part, and from memory, Sima Shun doesn't go to jail because of Zhu Ge Liang...
Sima Shun in the episode, made Sun Quan angry and wanted to kill Sima Shun. Zhu Ge Liang and Liu Bei begged for Sima Shun's life. As a result, they came to the compromise to kick Sima Shun out of Sun Quan area and was to never step foot in the territory again. If he did they would kill him. Sima Shun left Zhu Ge Liang and Liu Bei. One night he was caught by two men (Hon's men) and wanted him to help Cao Cao. Sima Shun didn't want to so they caught Song Yau as well, to threaten Sima Shun to help Cao Cao. Sima Shun being from the future would know Cao Cao is not reliable so he definitely wouldn't realize this point later. I really don't remember Sima Shun going to jail because of Zhu Ge Liang. I just remember him being in jail for a short while, but that was because Cao Cao found out he was hiding his identity and about where he is from. Unless I am wrong. Please correct me if I am. I am slightly confused about this..........my guess is TVB decided to change the script last minute? oh also I read somewhere that this drama was 25 episode long but ended at 24... again... TVB decided to cut it short and just end it??

Drama Overall

This drama, overall, was good at giving viewers an idea about Three Kingdoms (三国), historical happenings and historic events all in a short amount of time. Many feel that this drama is boring, or wasn't as exciting... well it is a historical fiction drama. Majority of people don't like history, think it's boring and maybe that's why many feel this drama dragged. I love history so I didn't mind, also I watched other dramas about 三国, those dramas were 95 or 100+ episodes! Talk about long. Believe me, this has been the shortest drama on three kingdoms. Other dramas don't just stop after the Battle at Red Cliff, it goes on and on until Sima Yan unites the three kingdoms Wei, Shu and Wu. Okay enough of boring history talk, haha. So in conclusion, I liked the drama, short and to the point. Wouldn't say it was good or my favorite, but a decent. It takes a lot to film a drama for us, so I'm grateful for all the TVB actors, actresses, script writers, directors and all those who could have made this drama happen. Only thing about this drama is, I just wish the ending was better!

Oh and comparing it to 寻秦记 Step into the past? I won't compare, both have their qualities. A step into the past may have been more exciting but it's because of the historical content. A step into the past is about fighting to the throne and uniting China while Three Kingdoms RPG is about the political, military tactics.

This has gotten quite long... oops, still want to do a events, character comparison. Next post!

Last thing...
If history really isn't your thing, watch it for Raymond, Kenneth and Tavia! All you Raymond, Kenneth Tavia fans! Support Support! Or better yet, watch it for a chok Zhu Ge Liang! LOLOLOL

Second episode: "chok...真chok, 诸葛亮好chok!" (ROFL Kenneth)

Oh! And Fan Gen too! :D Adorable and cute as well. Such a good friend. One of my favorite characters in this drama!

(Kenneth you are adorable ^__^)

Until the next post... ^__^ V

Three Kingdoms RPG 回到三国 Theme Song

Here is the theme song for the drama. Sang by none other than 林峰 Raymond Lam! Great emotion, perfect mood for the whole Three Kingdoms. Battle mode! Enjoy the song!

Lyrics

Bullfighting 斗牛要不要

斗牛要不要 (Bullfighting) is a Taiwanese drama that I have watched a while back. It was one of my earliest Taiwan dramas and it was and still is one of my favorites. Recently found that I had started a blog all about Bullfighting a while back. Actually, it is more of all the meaningful quotes with English translations from the drama. I remember at the time I tried very hard looking for all the meaningful quotes and narratives the characters said in the very beginning of each episode. So I decided to make a place where they could all be together for all those people who loved the quotes as much as I do. Sharing and making the search for them easier. Main characters in this drama are portrayed by Hebe Tian and Mike He. As I look through the posts, I have realized, this was what got me started in blogging about dramas.

So instead of posting about Bullfighting here in this drama blog, I will just insert the link here:

Please click and take a look if interested!  :D
It even has a short summery and soundtrack from the drama.

My Reaction to this drama [spoiler]

Reaction/summary to Love Amongst War 薛平贵与王宝钏

[SPOILER ALERT!!!!]

First off, I liked this drama! The events that happened made me want to watch on and on until the very end. I don't usually watch Mainland China dramas though... this one, I feel if Jessica and Benny (the two HK actors) weren't in this drama, it probably wouldn't have caught my attention.

Now for my review on this drama.
The whole story line is powered from what started in the very very beginning of the drama. Bao Chuan's second sister's husband (Wei Hu) wanted his younger brother (Wei Bao) to come into the Wang family. Well now, why the Wang family you ask? The Wang family, Bao Chuan's father is the prime minister to the Tang Emperor. The only way the younger brother could be part of the family would be marry Bao Chuan (Jessica). Of course Bao Chuan is really good at looking and people and she could tell this younger brother was up to no good, so she adamantly refuses to marry him. And this causes all the trouble. The two brothers think of a plan to kidnap Bao Chuan when she goes to the temple with the sisters and the younger brother would do harm to her and make her his. >:O What a ................!

Luckily when this all happened, Xue Ping Gui (Benny) was on his way to town to find a doctor, and he heard Bao Chuan's cries for help. 英雄救美! He fights off the Wei Bao (black masked person at the time) and also saves Bao Chuan when she fell into the water. So just like typical dramas, thunder lightning, deep in the mountains, boy girl, stranded in a cave. You know what happens next ;) hahaha, I know what you are thinking there. ROFL But it is love at first sight. Wah so beautiful right? Such a happy event! Bao Chuan and Ping Gui will be happy forever! NOW HOLD ON WAIT A SEC, things don't turn out that way :(  All the drama in this drama starts now!

Teehee, so I will try not to make it too long.

The main question in my head the whole time was "What will happen to Xue Ping Gui and Wang Bao Chuan?!?!"

Xue Ping Gui is such a good person! But because he saved Bao Chuan, he is now on the blacklist of Wei Hu and Wei Bao. In other words, Xue Ping Gui MUST die. (Oh gosh... why????? They are so evil) Wei Bao and his group of men with masked faces, go to Xue Ping Gui's house to kill him. They set his house on fire, killed the father and took the younger sister away. Xue Ping Gui is luckily saved from the fire by a group of beggars. He himself decides to 结拜兄弟with them and he becomes a beggar.

As this all happened, Bao Chuan's father wanted her to get married. Everyone wanted her to be their bride. She was pretty, smart, and of course the prime minister's daughter! Eventually, the emperor says he will construct a tower in which Bao Chuan will throw a ball down to possible suitors. Whoever can catch the ball, will be the man that she will marry on that same day. This gives Xue Ping Gui a chance right? Noo... the father, with the influence of Wei Hu, decides that only the men with invites can enter the area. Plus all the people he invites are all scholars except for Wei Bao. This isn't fair really, because he is strong and knows kung fu. Of course he will catch the 绣球 (the ball). Xue Ping Gui does catch the ball though :)

Now Ping Gui caught the ball, but the prime minister wouldn't let Bao Chuan marry him. Bao Chuan just wouldn't marry Wei Bao. She'd rather do three claps with her father to end their father-daughter relationship than to marry Wei Bao. Bao Chuan left her house and moved into the cave and married Ping Gui. Happy ending? Sadly no...

Not long after their marriage, Ping Gui was sent to war. Ping Gui, although he wasn't a major general, did outstandingly good during the war. Beating all the Xi Liang one on one competitions and he was able to persuade the princess to surrender. Of course Wei Hu and Wei Bao made sure Ping Gui would never come back. During celebrations, they put poison in his wine. He was knocked out and they put him on the horse, lit firecrackers on the horses back, hoping Ping Gui would die.
As luck would have it, the horse took him to the Xi Liang camps, the princess (who liked him) saved him and took Ping Gui back to Xi Liang. She tells the lie that Ping Gui was mistaken as a intruder and they killed him, thus the news that Ping Gui dies at war goes back home to everyone and Bao Chuan.

As a turn of events, Ping Gui is cured from the poison, he marries the Xi Liang Princess and becomes king and the father of two adorable kids. Time passes, 18 years, and as he is enjoying his luxurious life, little did he know, Bao Chuan was still waiting for him in the cold cave, starving and surviving on grass and roots. (Poor thing!) He comes back to find her, 18 years later, when he receives Bao Chuan's letter written with her blood. (Dramatic) The ending was epic ( at least... I thought so ^__^)

The ending~

Ping Gui comes back and he goes to see Bao Chuan's father, Bao Chuan also goes back home and dresses pretty again :) Everyone is surprised to see Ping Gui glad in luxurious clothes and they were even more surprised to learn he was the King of Xi Liang. Wei Bao still wants Ping Gui dead. So he and Bao Chuan's father decide, to have the high ranking general come to catch Ping Gui, because they say he is a traitor.

DUN DUN DUN DUN
Haha~ I just had to do that. This was absolutely SHOCKING! Well to all the bad people at least ;) Ping Gui turns out to be.....THE LONG LOST SON OF THE TANG EMPEROR!!!! Yes!! And the high ranking general is his uncle! They way the uncle found out was, Bao Chuan went to see him with the jade pendant on her neck and he starts asking questions. You can just imagine how shocked, the father, Wei Hu, second sister, and Wei Bao were (these are the MAJOR MAJOR BAD GUYS, so EVIL) They did so many evil things to Ping Gui (wanting him DEAD) They all knew that if Ping Gui became emperor he would killed them all for sure! And they do the stupidest thing EVER! Wei Hu has some control of the military. He banded them and decided to surround the Forbidden city to kill Ping Gui. Absolutely the biggest no no. Doing that will automatically give him the name of " traitor" which is automatic death sentence! Ping Gui still had his uncle, Bao Chuan's oldest's sister's husband and of course his wife from Xi Liang to control Wei Hu's forces.    Victory for Ping Gui's side, and not long after, his father dies so he became the next Tang Emperor. The last parts was all about how he punished those who deserved it and rewarded those who helped him. I especially like seeing how he handled those mean people, and the second sister who said nasty things and looked down on him. They were all begging and bowing to him! Begging for their life. And of course, Bao Chuan becomes the Empress. I liked the ending because it is well deserved for Ping Gui, all he had to go through, all the pain, hardships and fearing for his life. He sure got back at those for making him go through all of that. As for Bao Chuan, she was not wrong in choosing Ping Gui, although she had to wait 18 years for him, it was worth it :)

AND SO THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER! YAY!! ^__^

傳說 (薛平貴與王寶釧片頭曲)Beginning Soundtrack Lyrics/Analysis

Here are the lyrics to the song you hear in the beginning of each episode of the drama! I just have to say one word... BRILLIANT. This song is brilliant. If you read the lyrics, it actually tells the whole story of the drama or more of the story between Xue Ping Gui 薛平贵 and Wang Bao Chuan 王宝钏 :) Some people would be like pshh, sounds like something old people listen to (Chinese Operas?) BUT.. I like the melody of this whole song. Sounds so uplifting! The song is a fairy tale itself!  The title of the song is 傳說 which means "Legend". So I plan to so  a translation of the lyrics to English then you will see how the whole story is told in this one song! :)

Until next time~ Happy Drama Watching!

I have returned! ^__^

Hello Readers!

It as been a while since I have posted anything on this blog. Inactive for almost two years now?? It's like I suddenly just disappeared! Haha. I think it was because I was getting ready to graduate from high school and there were just a lot of things going on. I didn't have the time to watch dramas and even if I did, didn't have the time to blog about them. >.<

Just a little update about myself. After graduating from high school, I spent the summer preparing for my first year in college. I am currently majoring in architecture, and done with year one, going on to year two when school starts. I have to say, it was nothing like I expected. SUPER stressful, lack of sleep and no life. Haha yes, no life. I spent so much time in school working on projects, going back even on weekends. In school 24/7 (not quite but almost :P) So with all that was going in I completely forgot about this blog.

Well I am happy to say, I have returned. For how long I don't know. Maybe until school starts again... I spent a month of my summer trying to catch up on sleep (yea I'm really junk about lack of sleep). Now I am motivated to do things before my summer ends. So the other day I happened to think about my blogs and logged on to this drama blog that I started. I was kind of surprised to see that people have been viewing this blog and my past posts. :D I was surprised in a good way! Anyways... I want to thank all of you who come to this blog and take the time to read my posts.

I will be posting about dramas that I have watched in the past (there is a long list) and also about ones I just finished. Umm some I have watched a while back so it will take me some time to recall what happened in the dramas. I might even have to re watch some of them. But anyways, there is a lot and I will try to post more often. I love posting and talking about my reactions of the dramas. I hope that these posts will give the reader more information and insight to the drama.

There will be more posts to come and hopefully you can all enjoy my vents and rambles! haha~ ^__^
